Stock pairing

Pricing a coin in a tokenized stock instead of ETH.

Robinhood Chain carries tokenized versions of real stocks. A Lunch Break coin can use one of them as its quote asset. Buyers then pay in that stock, the curve is denominated in it, and the graduation pool pairs the coin with it.

Choosing a stock

On the Create page, Priced in lists ETH and every stock the registry allows. Pick one and two things happen:

  1. The coin's exchange is pinned to the stock's own exchange. A coin priced in a NYSE stock keeps NYSE hours.
  2. The curve is sized in that stock so the sell-out is worth about 10,000 US dollars at the moment of creation, using the stock's Chainlink price feed.

Availability

A stock can be temporarily unavailable in the list when its price feed is stale, when the feed is paused for a corporate action, or when it has not been sized yet. The dropdown dims those entries. On the test network only one mock stock exists; mainnet lists every tokenized stock the registry has been loaded with.

Trading a stock-priced coin

The trade panel works the same, with the stock as the unit. You will approve the stock for the launchpad before your first buy. Fees and taxes are taken in the stock. Creator fees and holder distributions are paid in the stock.

What stays the same

Supply, the 800 million on the curve, the 1% fee, the opening tax, graduation into a locked pool, and the calendar all work identically. Only the unit of account changes.

The stock has its own hours too

The stock token itself may only be transferable or priced during its own market hours, depending on how it is issued. Pinning the coin to the same exchange keeps the two aligned, which is why the exchange choice is locked when a stock is selected.
